Spring Wildlife-Viewing
in America's Serengeti,
the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone Park:
MAY 17-21, 2007
Experience the wonders of America's first national park, Yellowstone, at the peak of spring glory. The landscape will be turning green, wildflowers are starting to bloom, and there will be young wild animals everywhere: wolves, bison, elk, antelope, coyotes, grizzlies, black bears, etc.
The itinerary is similar to the winter trip, with the exception, of course, of the necessity for heavy winter clothing! (However, the nights and early mornings can be very cool at high altitude, and you will still want a very warm jacket and layers). And, the bears, black and grizzlies, will be out, foraging for food after a long winter's nap, and interacting with wolves, coyotes and other species. Last Spring our group even saw grizzly bears mating, from a distance!
You will be met at the Bozeman airport or picked up at hotels, meet the PCA staff and travel to Cooke City, where you'll be staying at the Alpine Motel. Mornings and evenings you will be out in the Lamar with experienced guides, viewing an incredible plethora of wildlife! Your afternoons will be free for hiking or relaxing, and on Day 3, you will visit a photographer's studio for a wildlife slide program.
On Day 4 you will explore the terraces and visitor center at Mammoth Hot Springs and end the trip at Chico Hot Springs, with a chance to soak in the wonderful springs and enjoy some excellent gourmet cuisine.

Adventure in the Washakie Wilderness:
A Horseback, Hiking and Fly Fishing Trip
in the Dunoir Valley:
AUGUST 17-20, 2007
This four-day packtrip in the high country of Greater Yellowstone will take place in the beautiful Dunoir Valley, near Dubois, WY. The Dunoir is a spectacular glaciated volcanic valley of high plateaus between lush open meadows. During your horseback summit of Dunoir Butte, you will see a wide diversity and abundance of wildflowers and wildlife, including moose, elk, mule deer and bighorn sheep. Meredith and Tory Taylor, your guides, are longtime residents and outfitters in the Dubois area and are experienced in the natural history of the Wind River Valley. You will also be accompanied by a PCA staff person or board member.
You will traverse the Continental Divide at Bowles Pass and fish the streams and lakes for brook trout and native cutthroat trout. You'll fish Dunoir Creek as well as assorted lakes along the way. No formal riding experience is necessary, as all horses are trail-savvy steeds; however, guests are encouraged to ride or hike prior to the trip. There will be plenty of time for swimming in cold streams and lakes, photographing awesome scenery, fishing for wild trout, and generally having fun with friends both new and old.
This four-day adventure will begin Tuesday, August 17, when you meet at 10 a.m. at the Bonneville Pass trailhead near Brooks Lake and end Friday, August 20, mid-afternoon at the same trailhead You may fly into Jackson Hole or Riverton, WY and from either airport, the closest town to the trailhead is Dubois, WY.

From the bears and wolves of the mountainous country to the black-footed ferrets and burrowing owls of the open grasslands, PCA has a wildlife viewing trip for everyone.
"High above us on a hillside: two grizzly bears under an ancient twisted pine. Our spotting scopes show every detail: their powerful muscles rippling beneath heavy brown coats, the grace with which they move...
