Ten collared grizzly bears along with the North Fork of the Flathead River (of SE British Columbia, Glacier Park, and Montana) were trapped, collared and monitored.
Most bears used habitat within 100 m of a road less than expected.
Eleven bears were known to have been shot in the study area since 1979; only one is known to have been killed away from a road.
