Associated Press Wolves Not a Threat to New Mexico Rancher 2001 Tuscon Citizen, 7/26/01

Jim Winder, a rancher in New Mexico, whose land abuts Gila NF, has agreed to, "not use lethal perdator controls to keep [wolves] away…. ‘we set up a memorandum of understanding that we would allow the wolf to recolonize our ranch.’"

"He said he protects his herds by grouping them in ways not conducive to wolf attacks. He runs about 1,700 head of cattle on 125,000 acres."
