"The HSUS has not supported fertility control research on wolves and coyotes. We believe that if this technology were developed, it would principally be used in predator control actions that we oppose, including control of wolf (Canis lupus) populations to boost populations of game species for hunters, and control of coyote (Canis latrans) populations to protect livestock that could be protected with more effective and less intrusive measures that are already available."(10)
